Joseph Vito Carucci, affectionately known as Joe to his friends and loved ones, passed away on May 31st, 2025, at the age of 50, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was in the comfort of his home in Center Line, Michigan, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. Joe's life began on June 24th, 1974, where he was born to Inez and the late James Carucci Sr.
Joe was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and attended Center Line High School. He lived in Center Line, Michigan with his beloved wife Shannon. Joe's professional path was one of honest labor; for over two decades, he worked in construction, where his hard work and integrity were evident in every project. Seeking more time with those he loved, Joe later transitioned to a career as a sign installer, a decision that spoke volumes about his priorities in life.
Joe's passions extended beyond his work and family. He was an avid outdoorsman who found the tranquility of nature merged with his passion for hunting. He had a love for music like no other and never missed an episode of his favorite show, "Supernatural". As a gun enthusiast, he approached this interest with safety and respect, always eager to share his knowledge with others. He was also a competitive soul; he loved the strategy and camaraderie that a good board game offered.
He met Shannon in 1993 and was a devoted husband for 26 years, a proud father to Kayla Carucci (Devin Herron), and an adoring grandfather to Devin Herron Jr. Joe is survived by his loving mother, Inez Carucci; his siblings, Jim (Monika) Carucci, and Monica (Ed) Schepp; along with his nephews. He was preceded in death by his father James Carucci Sr. and sister Rita Carucci leaving a legacy of love that he continued to carry forward. His family and friends were the cornerstone of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Visitation will take place on Friday, June 6th, from 2-8pm and Saturday, June 7th from 9:00am until the time of the service, 10:00am, at Chas. Verheyden, Inc., 16300 Mack Ave., Grosse Pointe Park. A luncheon will follow the services.
