Joseph "Joey" Martin Collins, III, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on June 19, 1978, to his parents, Joseph II and Terry (Tucker) Collins, in Junction City, Kansas.
Joey attended Manhattan High and liked to say he studied at the school of hard knocks. Over the years, he worked as a kitchen manager and sous chef at the K-State Student Union and then cooking as a sous chef for the K-State Athletic table and the stadium. He loved to cook and also had a passion for drag racing, owning a 1966 Chevy II drag car. He also enjoyed spending time with his two dogs, Deuce and Chevy, and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and the K-State Wildcats.
Joey is survived by his parents, Joseph II and Terry Collins, Manhattan; the love of his life, Heather Price, Manhattan; Aunts and Uncles, Pat and Carol Collins, Cathy Blewster, Mike and Rene Collins, Amy Tucker, Susan Tucker; 7 cousins and 10 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph I and Millie Collins; maternal grandparents, Raymond and Gladys Tucker; and uncles, Gene and C.T. Tucker, and Mike Blewster.
Funeral service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the funeral home, with interment following after at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Ogden.
Visitation will be held the evening prior from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Monday, August 18, 2025, at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home, 1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.
