Joseph Anthony Croce passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family on October 27, 2024. Born on November 16, 1976, in Media, PA to parents John V. Croce and Donna Marie Gentile, he was the youngest of their three children. He graduated from Springfield High school in 1994 as the class president.
Joe was a man defined by his devotion to family, his nation, and his many passions. He served honorably as a U.S. Marine with deployments to Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq. Following his military service, he pursued a career in the federal government, holding key roles in Department of Homeland Security, White House, and U.S. Congress, and most recently leveraging his expertise in the private sector.
A lifelong learner, Joe, held a bachelor's degree in political science from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and a master's in government analytics from Johns Hopkins University. He was also a devout Catholic, committed to his faith and community.
Joe loved spending time with his wife, children who he adored beyond description, and all his family and friends. He had this genuine charm, always energetic, passionate, and caring, and left a lasting impression on many who he met both in a personal and a professional setting. He enjoyed traveling, cooking with his wife, playing the guitar, reading with his children, and taking them and his friends skiing, fishing, crabbing, ball games, and numerous other adventures.
Joe is survived by his wife, Yuri; his children, Joseph "Kochan", Gabriel, and Maria; his mother, Donna Gentile; his father, John V. Croce; his brother, John C. Croce; his sister, Melissa Croce Deal (Richard), and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing, Saturday November 9, 2024 9:00AM St. Francis of Assisi Church 136 Saxer Avenue Springfield, PA 19064 and to his Funeral Mass 11:00AM in the Church. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cemetery.
A memorial service will be arranged also in the Washington, DC area at the later date. Details will be announced in the near future.

Only very recently did I meet Joe. I was impressed immediately by his determination to do what he thought as the right thing to do. He showed courage and friendliness, and we hardly knew each other. I had no idea of his physical situation, and I'm sure that's no surprise. I hope his family will cherish his memories forever.

To Joe's family - you already know what a special person Joe was. Those of us who worked and traveled with him on the Appropriations Committee's knew him as a smart, dedicated, and caring professional. He was a straight-shooter as well as one of the kindest people. His face lit up when we talked about his family - his kids were SO important to him. We will miss him every day and carry his memory with us. The flowers were just a small token of our respect and esteem. We look forward to celebrating his life with you at the DC area memorial service. Peace, Chip Walgren
