It is profound sadness the family of Arnold J. Croce announces his passing on December 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at home. He was 83 years old.
Born on March 27, 1942 in Middletown, NY. He was the son of the late Mario and Angelina (Biamonte) Croce. After graduating from Middletown High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served on the U.S.S. Enterprise. He then went to work in the Parts Departments at H.L. Ayres & Arkel Motors. Arnie was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge 1097 for 51 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Marietta Staz (Frederick), his brother Joseph Croce, and his grandson Brandon Arnold Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bernadette Croce, his five daughters, Desiree Pappas (Jason), Lauren Croce, Roberta Croce (Deryck), Susan McGrath. Jennifer Croce (Joe) and four beloved grandchildren, Anthony Martin, David Hassler, Bria and Tyler Wade.
Arnie was a humble man who worked tirelessly for his family. His legacy will live on through his family, friends and colleagues who knew him.
The family of Arnold would like to recognize Dr. Robert Dinsmore for all his care and compassion over the years.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Applebee-McPhilips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, at 11 am, Fr. Paul "Pablo" Richmond, O. Carm. will officiate. Burial with Military honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown, NY.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Legion Post 1181 c/o Jim Scali, 901 Goshen Turnpike, Circleville, NY 10919 or to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties.
