Born on January 10, 1950, in Union Beach, Louis was a lifelong resident of the area, a devoted family man, and a respected member of the community.
Louis and Maureen were united in marriage on March 18, 1972, and together they built a life filled with joy and family in Union Beach. Louis's career was marked by dedication and hard work; he retired from International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), where he was a valued employee in the sample lab for many years. His commitment to his work continued after retirement when he joined the Monmouth County Road Department. A proud member of the Merchant Marines, Louis's service was an important part of his identity and he often shared stories of his time served with his family.
He adored his home in Long Pond (Poconos), Pennsylvania, which he often referred to as his happy place. It was there that he found peace and contentment, whether he was enjoying the tranquility of his surroundings or hosting gatherings with family and friends.
Louis was predeceased by his loving parents, Charles and Almeda (Winterhagen) Croce, as well as his brother Charles "Snookie" Croce and sister Almeda Ammaturo and her husband, Sal. He leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication in his wife of 53 years, Maureen (Strand) Croce, and their children, Louis V. Croce Jr. and his wife Melanie of Middletown, John Croce of Red Bank, and Jim Croce and his wife Kristin of Middletown. His memory will also be cherished by his siblings, Ronald Croce and his wife Trudy, and Diane Scarfi, and his sister-in-law, Terry Croce. Louis was a proud grandfather to Kylie, Dylan, Brody, Riley, Maddy, Hailey, and Cooper and leaves behind many treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
