Robert J. Stephens Jr. of Accord, New York and a former resident of Middletown, N.Y. passed away on January 24, 2026, in Achieve Nursing Home in Liberty, N.Y. He was 73.
The son of the late Robert and Irene Stephens, he was born on November 1, 1952, in Middletown, N.Y.
Robert was a longtime bus driver for First Student, most recently in the Wallkill School District.
He was a volunteer Fireman for over forty years.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Philhower. His daughter Chantelle Stephens and his son Robert Stephens III. His stepchildren David Wayne Lyons Jr., Brandon Lyons and Alicia Lyons. His brothers David Stephens (Patty) and Steve Stephens (Stacy) and Tim Stephens. His sister Dawn Stephens and his nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 7, 2026 from 1-5 P.M. at the Kerhonkson Fire House 333 Main St. Kerhonkson, N.Y.
