We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Robert “Bob” E Cutler, Jr. of the Town
of Mount Hope, a lifelong resident of the area, and retired from the Federal Bureau of
Prisons. He passed away on January 31, 2026 in Garnet Health Medical Center in
Middletown, N.Y. He was 77. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with
friends and family. He enjoyed a daily drink with his friends(family) at The Last Shot in
New Vernon, NY. Bob was a devoted husband, brother, father and grandfather and he
enjoyed being every one of these every single day of his life.
The son of the late Robert and Evelyn Cutler, he was born on September 28, 1948 in
Middletown, N.Y.
Robert was a veteran of the United States Marines having served during the Vietnam
War.
He was a past member of the Laurel Hunting Club; past Assistant Chief of Howells Fire
Department and a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
Survivors include his wife Pat Cutler at home. His daughter Lisa Cutler of Mt. Hope,
N.Y. and his son Brian Cutler of Slate Hill, N.Y. His brothers Ollie Cutler (Kim) and
Kenny Cutler (Stacy). His brother-in-laws Jim Buckmaster and Robert Morani (Ann).
His grandchildren Jordan Elser, Shawn Elser, Aubrey Cutler and Andrew Cutler. He is
also survived by his nieces and nephews as well as his pride and joy, his beloved dog
Cody.
He was predeceased by his sister Kathleen Buckmaster.
Visitation hours will be held on Tuesday February 3,2026 from 4-7 P.M. at the Martinez
Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday February 4, 2026 at 11 A.M. at the
Funeral Home.
Burial with military honors will be in the Howells Cemetery Howells, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Wreaths Across America
via the Nam Knights. Make checks payable to the Nam Knights and mail to Orange
County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Rd Goshen, NY 10924
