Joseph Deep Obituary

Joseph P. Deep, III
Joseph P. Deep III, of Bethel, CT, passed away on August 8, 2023 at the age of 53 following a brief illness. A devoted husband, loving father and avid traveler, Joe leaves behind his wife of 26 years, Janice (Paulsen) Deep and 3 amazing kids; Brittany, Susannah and Ryan. He was a very proud grandpa to Juliette. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his mom, Kathy and his dad Joe, as well as his beloved grandparents.
Joe was a mild-mannered, easygoing guy that was often the life of the party… in his younger days. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, camping and spending time with his family. A diehard NY Giants fan, he had season tickets for many years and rarely missed a game.
Joe enjoyed traveling and cruised to Bermuda with his wife many times over the years. He also spent a lot of time on Cape Cod. As their kids got older, his in-laws treated the family to many cultural experiences around the world. The list is endless, but his favorite trips were definitely Alaska, Kenya, and Greece.
Joe grew up in Bethel, CT and was an employee of Deep's Market until it closed in 2005. He then went on to work for ShopRite in Brookfield until he fell ill. Joe was dedicated and hardworking. He took a lot of pride in providing for his family, even working nights at UPS for many years.
Joe will be terribly missed by his family and friends. He was taken way too soon, but his sense of humor and strength will live on through all who knew and loved him.
Visiting hours will take place on Saturday, August 12 from 4-6 pm at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel. To leave an online condolence, please visit hullfuneralservice.com.

I´m very saddened by hearing of his passing. Susannah and my daughter Sarah were childhood best friends and we spent a ridiculous amount of time at their house, including sleepovers where I slept on thei comfy couch. We even went on a couple vacations with them, with never a dull moment. My thoughts and prayers to the entire family. Thanks for the memories Joe and family
