Gladstone, MI
Joseph P. Demeuse, age 65, of Gladstone, passed away accidentally Saturday morning, February 18, 2023, while ice fishing.
Joe was born May 4, 1957, in Escanaba, the son of Joseph and Barbara (Cayer) Demeuse. He was raised in Gladstone and was a 1976 graduate of Gladstone High School. Following high school, Joe went to work for U.P. Pipe and Concrete where he remained until his retirement in May of 2021.
On October 28, 1978, Joe was united in marriage to the former Dianne Carlson at All Saints Church in Gladstone. Together the couple made their home and raised their three daughters.
Joe was a hard worker, dedicated family man, and a good friend to all. He was employed at U.P. Pipe and Concrete for 45 years, in addition he had a passion for running his excavating business in his spare time. Joe was kind, loving, he never hesitated to lend a helping hand, and left a lasting impression on all those he met. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his eight grandkids!
Joe was known for his infectious laugh and the occasional "Joeism" ("Hey Guy" or "How ya doin Guy"). Joe loved the outdoors. He enjoyed many hours hunting, fishing, cutting firewood, making maple syrup, going to camp, riding his Harley, and "putzing in the garage". Joe's garage is where many would hang out to "talk smart" and "get intelligent ".
In addition, to his loving wife Dianne of 45 years, Joe is survived by: Daughters: Jennifer (Randy Carlson) Demeuse, Brenda (Mike) Lahti, Michelle (Greg) Ball, Brother: Rich (Cindy) Demeuse, Niece: JoEllyn Demeuse, Sister: Debbie (Tim) Gutzman, Nephew/Niece: CJ/Katie Gutzman, Grandchildren: Cameron, Tyler, Ben Dubord, Evan, Ava, Ella Lahti, Riley, Reagan Ball, and beloved dog Sadie Mae.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Barbara.
