On June 20, 1998, Joseph married the love of his life, Kellie Camfield, in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Their marriage was a testament to true love and partnership, flourishing through 27 years of shared dreams and adventures. Joseph's unwavering love for Kellie was evident to everyone who had the pleasure of witnessing their bond.
Joseph's life was enriched by his beloved siblings, Kris Phillips, sister-in-law Sheri Dixon, Pat (Linda) Dixon, Cheryl (Jerry) Harding, Kathy (Mac) Woody, and Marvin (Tami) Dixon. His special nephew Jeremy and niece Dakotah held a dear place in his heart. The Dixon family will cherish the memories of Joseph's humor and companionship for years to come. He leaves behind a legacy of laughter and love, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss his presence deeply. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, his brother Michael Dixon, brother-in-law Craig Phillips, and his cherished fur friends Willy, Chance, and Cleobell, who were his loyal companions.
Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army, after he dedicated his skills and hard work to the Grand Trunk/CN Railroad as a carman, where he was known for his strong work ethic and his ability to brighten even the most mundane days with his jokes and stories. His colleagues will remember him as a man who could always be counted on for a laugh, a helping hand, and a creative solution to any problem.
Joseph's interests were as diverse as his personality. An avid outdoorsman, he relished in the tranquility of hunting and the excitement of fishing. His spontaneous road trips with Kellie, filled with laughter and the joy of discovery. An enthusiast of car races, Joseph could often be found cheering loudly for his favorite drivers, and his trips to the casino were always full of hope and camaraderie. At home, he was the life of the party, known for his "good bs stories" and for being the jokester in any room. Friends and family will fondly recall how he enjoyed a cold beer while jamming to loud music, a testament to his love for life and good times.
