Standish Michigan

John died February 21, 2026, at My Michigan Skilled Nursing in Standish following a lengthy illness. He was born August 19, 1947, in Standish to John and Eloise (Morse) Tremble.

John married the love of his life Phyllis Anne Petty on November 30, 1968. They shared 55 years together before she preceded him in 2024.

John had worked at the IGA in Standish and was an avid outdoorsman. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

As a loving father and grandfather John and Phyllis adopted several children into their family giving them a foundation of love, compassion, and grace. He is survived by his children Janette, Christopher, John III, Daniel, and Tyler, grandchildren Myles and Destinee, and great granddaughters Iridessa and Paris. He is also survived by his brothers Lawrence, Lester, David, and his sister Pauline along with numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis, his parents and his children Betty, Terry, and James.

A celebration of John's life with be held Tuesday March 3, 2026, at 1 pm from the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home-Standish Chapel with Yvette Chisholm presiding. Friends and family may visit from 11:00am until time of service.
