Joseph Conner Douglas, 60, of Belleair, FL, passed away August 7, 2025. Born in Memphis, TN on October 24, 1964, Joe grew up in Germantown, TN. He is predeceased by his parents, James Louis and Joan Murray Douglas; brothers Arthur 'Art', Thomas 'Tommy', James 'Lou', and Christopher 'Chris' Douglas; and his best friend, Daniel John Intemann.
A devoted father, godfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Joe is survived by his three sons: Joseph Caden Douglas [23], Grant Saban Douglas [21], and Charlton Pierce Douglas [19]; godson Namath Oscar Intemann [18]; brother-in-law John William [Carrie] Akers; nieces Lillie Akers [22] and Lucy Akers [19]; aunts Etta Mae Bauer and Elizabeth Foster; and cousins Walter N. Foster, Jr., Marybeth Berry, Andrew Foster, Murray Foster, Sally Barron, Kathy Mehler Clark, and Betsy Mehler Clark.
Joe spent over 40 years in the mortgage industry, where he made lifelong friendships. Outside of work, he found joy in golf and was often seen cruising around town in his LSU-themed golf cart or classic Mercedes. A proud member of both the Pelican Golf Club and Belleair Country Club, he cherished the camaraderie and competition.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Joe passionately supported the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers - but his heart belonged to LSU. A proud alumnus and member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Joe bled purple and gold. His Tiger pride was unmistakable, whether he was cheering on LSU football or sharing stories from his college days. He was a flag football coach at the Belleair Recreational Center for many years and could be your coach, your fan, or your biggest cheerleader.
Joe was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church for 17 years and will be remembered for his generous spirit, warm smile, and the way he connected with others - often through the twinkle in his eyes.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, 820 Jasmine Way, Clearwater, FL 33756.
