Joey is survived by his Beloved Mother Rosemarie Dowd; Brother Vincent Dowd and Sister Melissa Artola; Uncle to Richard and Anthony Artola; Nephew to Edward Dowd; Cousin to Deanna and Teddy Dowd. Welcomed home by his Adored Great Grandmother and Godmother Marie Decker; Grandparents Peter and Mary Roberts; Nephew Nicholas Artola; Uncles Michael, Robert, Johnny and Ted Dowd; and Aunt Christina Valentino. Joey Graduated (1984) from Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School, where he played football and baseball. There are no services planned. Please honor Joey by lighting a candle and saying a prayer. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory High School.

My best friend growing up in Visitacion Valley while we lived on the same block, we had many good times going to the park where I got to learn to ride his Stingray bike on the baseball diamond and taking their dog on walks with his mom. We'd play pool, pachinko (in his garage), or strikeout and basketball at OLV . Loved that our families shared life together. Prayers to the whole family

Rest in Peace Uncle Joe, you will never be forgotten that's for sure. I used to love playing football on the street, playing Tecmo Super bowl for 5 bucks a game or just riding on the back of a motorcycle you were driving.
