Joseph Thomas Fillippa, 70 went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at The Seabreeze Nursing Facility, Texas City, Tx surrounded by his wife, niece, and friend. Joe was born September 12, 1955 in Texas City, Tx at Mainland Hospital to Joe and Margaret Fillippa. He was raised in Kemah, TX

He attended school at the Shrine of the True Cross in Dickinson TX. He then attended and graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1974.

Joe love attending church. He attended St Mary's Catholic Church in League City, TX.

He worked on his family's farm as a young boy raising vegetables to sell at the Famers Market. Joe worked for the State of Texas on the Road Crew until 1978. He then went to work for Galveston County Road and Bridge in Dickinson, TX until he retired on disability in 1995. To keep himself busy Joe love cutting grass, so he started a small lawn service where he had several large lots and yards he maintained. His hobbies yes included yard work and gardening. He also loved hanging out with friends and family eating good Italian food.

Joe meets the love of his life in 1976. They were married in 1982 and from this union a son was born, Paul Anthony Fillippia. Joe and Melissa had a full life together. They lived, laughed, loved, and cried together. Through it all they believed their happy marriage was built on friendship, mutual forgiveness, and teamwork.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to so many. He will be greatly missed.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, brother Nick Fillippa, twin sisters, Dorothy Olsen and Mary-Ann McDonald, sisters, Shirley Fillippa, Jeanette Snodgrass, and other family and friends.

Joe will be forever loved, missed and cherished, by his surviving family, devoted wife and best friend, Melissa Fillippa (Webster, Tx), son, Paul Fillippa (Ashley)(College Station, Tx), grandchildren, Parker Fillippa and Nora Fillippa (College Station, Tx), dedicated niece, Kathy Olsen (Dickinson, Tx), devoted and loving puppies, Opal Fillippa and Buddy Fillippa. A host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special Longtime Friends: Calvin (deceased) and Angela Brooks, Ben and Debbie Carr, Mike and Karen Flowers.
