Frederick Patterson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carnes Funeral Home - Texas City on Feb. 23, 2026.
Frederick Patterson, better known as Rick, passed away on February 2nd, 2026. Born on February 13th, 1946, Rick lived a fulfilling life of eighty years, filled with love, generosity, and service to others.

Rick's personality was often described as loving, generous, caring, and friendly. He was a beacon of light to everyone who knew him, and his generous spirit reflected in his dedication to ACTS Christian Church, Street Ministries and Local Food Banks. A proud volunteer, he deeply cared about these causes and left an indelible mark through his service.

A man of many interests, Rick loved jazz music, any science fiction and old western movies, and football. He cherished time spent in his backyard garden with his beloved wife, Edna. His love for Italian cream cake was only surpassed by his love for any meal prepared by Edna. Pepsi was his drink of choice, and pink held a special place in his heart as his favorite color.

Rick believed strongly in sharing the word of God, a lesson that he passed down to his family and community. Some of his greatest accomplishments included marrying the love of his life, Edna, becoming a father, a grandfather, and an ordained minister. His legacy of generosity will be remembered and carried forward by all those who knew him.

Rick is survived by his daughter Sydney Boos and husband Frank Boos, daughter Dawn Tucker and husband Ronnie Tucker, son Reggie Kelly and spouse Don Ferraro. His grandchildren Maddison Tucker, Ella Boos, Ethan Boos and Jasmine Tucker. His brother Kennith Patterson and wife Cecilia Patterson. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jeannie Patterson.

Rick was predeceased by his beloved wife, Edna Patterson, his mother, Gertrude Patterson, his father, Harold Patterson, and his brother, Dennis Patterson.

A Celebration of Life for Rick will be held on March 7th, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Carnes Funeral Home. In loving memory of Rick, we invite all who knew him to join and celebrate the extraordinary life he lived.
