Berniece E. Patterson, age 86, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026. She was born on May 12, 1939, and lived a life defined by devotion to her family, hard work, and a kind and sassy spirit.
On July 29, 1956, Berniece married the love of her life, William Patterson Sr., beginning a lifelong partnership built on love, faith, and dedication to family. Together they created a strong and loving home that remained the center of her life.
Berniece was a hardworking woman who took pride in serving others throughout her career. She worked as a deli associate at Publix and later shared her creativity while decorating cakes at Dairy Queen, bringing smiles to countless families through her work. She was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge, where she enjoyed fellowship and community.
She found great joy in life’s simple blessings. Berniece loved arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, and caring for her flowers. Her home and garden reflected her warmth, creativity, and nurturing heart. Above all, she cherished her family and the time spent together, creating memories that will live on for generations.
She is survived by her children: William A. Patterson Jr. of Live Oak, Florida; daughter, Brenda A. (John) O’Bryan of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania; son, Bruce D. (Wanda) Patterson of Port St. Lucie, Florida; son, Brad A. Patterson of Live Oak, Florida; and daughter-in-law, Kelly Patterson of New York.
Grandchildren include Joy Hawn of Pennsylvania, Krystal Patterson of Fort Pierce, Florida, Dalton Patterson of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Elexix Patterson and Kaleb Patterson of Live Oak, Florida, and Brent Patterson, Brooke Patterson, and Chandra Patterson, all of New York. She is also survived by her beloved 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Berniece was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Patterson Sr.; her son, Robert “Bob” Patterson; and her granddaughter, Paige Patterson.
