Joseph “Fred” Clingerman, 86, of Everett, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Bedford Post Acute. He was born on September 28, 1939 in Bedford, a son of the late Carl and Pearl (Smith) Clingerman. On December 14, 1960 in Cumberland, MD, he married Patricia B. “Pat” (Bulger) Clingerman and she preceded him in death on May 8, 2020. He is survived by one daughter: Sandra Fletcher and husband Jeff of Everett; three grandchildren: Tricia Clark and husband Clinton of Chaneysville, Corey Clingerman of Somerset, and Taylor Wareham of Harrisonville; and two great-grandchildren: Lettie and Lemuel Clark. He was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Clingerman and a brother, Richard Clingerman.
Fred served in the U.S. Army and later co-owned a trucking company with his wife Pat. He was an over the road truck driver, and throughout his career he hauled everything other than cows and milk. He was a fan of both Peterbilt and Mack Trucks, and always kept his trucks clean. He attended One Community Christian Church with his wife and enjoyed walking.
