Joseph Fuchs III Obituary

Joseph James Fuchs III, 51, of Farmington passed away October 14, 2025. He was born April 10, 1974 in Rantoul, IL to the late Joseph and Cathie (Welshans) Fuchs. Joe was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures—whether casting a line on a quiet morning, collecting and trading his beloved Case knives, or spending time outdoors camping, boating, and grilling with family and friends. He loved the thrill of a good auction and the hunt for a hidden treasure while thrifting. Above all, he was a devoted husband and a proud father whose love, laughter, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, David Long and best friend, Phillip Statler.

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Karen (Long) Fuchs; two children, Logan James “Bro” Fuchs and Laycee Nacole “Biggie” Fuchs; one sister, Rebecca Francis (Rodney); mother-in-law, Pam Long; sister-in-law, Regina Long (Bill); brother-in-law, Chris Long (Jamie); nieces and nephews, Dalton, Tyler, Easton, Gabriel, Lyndan, Maggie, Haley and Tayler; three fur babies, Baylee, Striker and Brewski. Many dear family and friends also survive.

A memorial visitation will be held at the C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home – Taylor Chapel on Monday, October 20, 2025 from 5:00 PM until the time of a memorial service at 6:00 PM with Jerad Tittel officiating.
