Joseph Vincent Gahr of Fulton, Missouri was born on March 29, 1957, to Jackie W. and Dorothy J. (Strub) Gahr. He left this life on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Milan Care Center in Milan, Missouri at the age of 67. 

Joe was affectionately known as Sputnik when he was young. He worked as an assembler at a manufacturing facility in Fulton. He enjoyed cars, dogs, and he was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Jackie W. and Dorothy J. (Strub) Gahr; siblings Michael Gahr, Rosemary Gahr-Wielms and Tracy Gahr-Smith; niece Jacquelyn Hunt-Grosfield.

Those who are left to treasure his memory are his siblings Deborah and husband Jack Dicus of Bourbon, Missouri; Christine Shaw and partner Steve Jackson of Spanish Lake, Missouri; Paul and wife Fey Gahr of Downingtown, Pennsylvania; Carol Barillier of St. Charles, Missouri; aunt Roma Strub of O’Fallon, Missouri; sister-in-law Mary Gahr of Ballwin, Missouri; brother-in-law Russell Smith of Dill City, Oklahoma; cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Resurrection Cemetery 6901 Mackenzie Rd. St. Louis, Missouri on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.

If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society.
