Joseph Paul Gargon Jr

Joseph P. Gargon Jr. (92) of Millville, NJ passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 after a battle with a long illness.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Doreen; and was a loving father to Elizabeth (Robert) Moro, Joanne (Keith) Burnham, Joseph (Sandra) Gargon III, Edward (Anne) Gargon, Stephen Gargon and Christa Gargon; grandfather to Stephanie Moro, Melissa Eisenman, John Burnham, Joseph Gargon IV, Chelsea Burnham, Eric Gargon, Gina Gargon, and Vincent and Tracey Bergeron; and brother to Gloria Ball, John Gargon and Mary Grace McCloskey. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Edith Gargon Sr; and one sister Kathleen Charlton.
From 1948 to 1955 Joseph served in the U.S. Army during the Cold and Korean Wars. Joseph was a hard working man. He retired at the age of 81 from Hanover Foods in Vineland. Prior to that he worked as a machinist for Industrial Machines in Linden, NJ.
He was a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Millville. Joseph was an avid gardener, and he loved to be outside keeping busy. He had hard working hands and he was very active for his age up until his illness. He was also a music lover and a carpenter and a gentle soul. Joseph will be deeply missed by his family and friends. May he find eternal rest and peace in the heavens above.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the Parish of All Saints, Buck and Depot Streets, Millville. Family and friends will be received on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the Christy Funeral Home, 11 W. Broad Street, Millville. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Millville.
