Joseph L. Gentile passed away peacefully on the morning of October 8, 2025, in Concord, New Hampshire, after his second battle with cancer. He was 70 years old.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, on November 13, 1954, Joe was the son of the late Louis and Esther Gentile. He grew up in Wolcott, CT, and graduated from Wolcott High School in 1972 and St. Mary's Hospital School of Respiratory Therapy before going on to become the successful owner of Mid-State Teledata.
Joe and his wife of 46 years, Karen (Biagioni) Gentile, made their home in Prospect, Connecticut, where they raised their two children. Joe also served as a firefighter on the Prospect Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
Known for his larger-than-life personality and big heart, Joe was always the life of the party. He loved fishing, boating, playing cards, and cooking and enjoying great Italian food. He cherished time spent with family and friends at their lake home in New Hampshire and their home in Florida.
In addition to his beloved wife, Karen, Joe is survived by his son, Jason L. Gentile, and his wife, Lauren, of Rocky Hill, CT; his daughter, Lauren (Gentile) Keane, and her husband, Stephen Thiel, of Westborough, MA; his sister, Carolyn Laurel; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Morrow.
A private Celebration of Life will be held to remember Joe and the joy he brought to those who loved him most.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy of New Hampshire, to help protect Joe's beloved waterways for future generations.
