Joseph Gertcher Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 7, 2025.
Joseph "Joe" Jeffery Gertcher, age 43, of Roseville, Michigan, passed away on November 6, 2025.

Joe was the beloved son of Jeff and Maryann Gertcher, and the cherished brother of Alishia (Greg) Ebel. He was the proud uncle of Blake and Max, who brought him endless joy. Joe was also the loving grandson of Barbara and the late Sam Gertcher, and Rose and the late Joseph Ferrante.

Joe was, at his core, a gentle soul with a kind heart, loyal and full of love for his family and friends. His care for others ran deep, shown through his willingness to help, to listen, and to offer comfort in thoughtful ways. Through kindness and compassion, he brought comfort and reassurance to all who knew and loved him.

Joe was known for his intelligence, curiosity, and remarkable ability to understand how things worked. From a young age, he amazed those around him with his quick mind, reciting facts and answering Jeopardy! questions with ease. He had a true passion for building and fixing, and there was little he couldn't take apart, understand, and put back together again. Whether working on a mechanical project in the garage, repairing something around the house, or building Lego sets with his nephews, Blake and Max, Joe found joy in creating and improving. He also loved fishing and spending time by the water, where he found peace and contentment.

Joe's life was a reminder that true kindness often speaks softly, through steady presence, small gestures, and the love shared in everyday moments. Though his time with us was far too short, his spirit and kindness will remain with all who were fortunate to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date.
