Joe was born on June 25, 1932, in Warren, Indiana, to the late Charles and Ruby (Trusler) Good. A proud graduate of Talma High School, he completed his studies in 1950. On August 22, 1953, he married Helen M. Beck in Rochester, Indiana. Their devoted union lasted over six decades until her passing on February 8, 2016.

He was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Masonic Lodge, both in Mentone. Joe enjoyed operating his Ham radio and exploring tinkering with electronics. He was an enthusiastic supporter of both Indiana University and Notre Dame athletics.
He is survived by his daughters Sandra and husband Marvin Book of Columbus, Ind. and Janice and husband Fred Pfeiffer, Indianapolis, Ind.; grandchildren Emily and husband Matthew Kern of New Salisbury, Ind. and Neal Book of Indianapolis, Ind.; and great grandchildren Charlotte and Max.
