In Loving Memory of Joseph Donald “Donnie” Hall
Donnie Hall, age 75 of Kiln, MS, passed away peacefully in Gulfport, MS, on February 19, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Dianna; his daughters, Michele (Jack), Emilie (Charlie), Marilyn (Glenn), and Kathy (Greg); his son, Chad; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was also survived by his uncle, Douglas Dillard and cousin, Judy Vinson, who were raised as siblings, and his aunt, Louise Effler.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Leo L. Kinchen; his mother, Ethel Marie Dillard; one sister, Peggy Diane Murray; grandparents, Buford and Gracie Irene Dillard; uncles, J.D., Willie, Hershal, Larry, and Kenny; and aunt,s Mary Pervel, Della Spiers, and Helen Billiot.
Donnie was born in Algiers, LA, on October 5, 1950, to Leo L. Kinchen and Ethel Marie Dillard. He was raised in a loving, Christian home with his mother, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Throughout his life, he worked many jobs, including 22 years at Circle T, where he drove a spreader truck. He traveled all over with multiple groups singing gospel music.
Donnie was a man whose life was defined by love, laughter, and faith. He left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. His greatest joy was his family—he loved singing with them, sharing his passion for music through the guitar and piano, and creating cherished memories that will last forever. Another of his favorite pastimes was fishing, a hobby he delighted in sharing with those closest to him.
Donnie was the embodiment of love. Whether he was attending family events and making everyone laugh or calling to sing happy birthday to his children and grandchildren. His presence brought joy and warmth to every occasion. His laughter could turn a bad day into a good one, and his childhood stories and silly sayings were legendary. He lived a good, happy life surrounded by those he loved most. He didn’t have favorites; he loved everyone the same. His legacy is one of joy, laughter, and love, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Donnie loved his wife unconditionally and treasured every moment they shared. He worked hard to provide for his family, ensuring they were cared for even in difficult times. His life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. Above all, Donnie will be remembered for his beautiful voice, his love for family, and most importantly, his love for the Lord.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, February 23, 2026, at Lesil Dedeaux Family Cemetery, 5000 Azalea Circle, Kiln, MS 39556.
