Joseph Harris Obituary
Joseph W. Harris, of Old Fort, went to be with his Heavenly Father on October 16, 2023.
He was born July 16, 1935 in McDowell County to the late John and Tercie Dalton Harris.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Lillian; his children, Sharon Dennie, Michael and Janice Harris, and Joan and Frank Hughes; five grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; a sister, Jane Whitesides; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a lifetime member of Living Waters Tabernacle of Old Fort. His interests were gardening, hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Most of all he enjoyed spreading the Word of God to all he met.
Mr. Harris will lie in state on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Beam Funeral Service. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 12:00 noon with Reverend Ken Massingill officiating. Burial will follow at Davistown Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
