Joseph A. Hasham

Joseph A. Hasham, age 89, died March 24, 2010 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth following a long illness. He was husband of the late Emma (Alsheimer) Hasham. Born in Brockton, MA on March 29, 1919, he was son of the late George and Esther Hasham. He was educated in Brockton Schools and worked as a Steward for the Hingham Shipyard as well as a civilian worker for the US Government at Otis Air Force Base. Mr. Hasham was a member of the John Alden Sportsman Club and the Cold Spring Club in Plymouth. He moved to Plymouth from Brockton in 1950, previously residing in Brockton. He enjoyed playing football, baseball, softball and various other sports. Mr. Hasham is survived by his step-daughter Margaret "Marge" Biancucci of Plymouth and was predeceased by his four sisters; Sadie Kalpokus, Marie Doyle, Theresa Dunn and Josephine (Fina) Hasham, who became a famous ball player for the Blue Sox of Indiana. The movie "league of Their Own" was made in honor of this all women softball team. Josephine was the first woman installed in the Baseball Hall of Fame. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services omitted and burial will be private.
