It is with deep respect and heartfelt remembrance that we announce the passing of Joseph Anthony Hay Sr., a remarkable man whose life touched many, on March 21, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on May 11, 1929, Joe was known as a hardworking individual who dedicated 52 years of his life to Setco. His legacy is one of dedication and integrity, admired by all who knew him.
Joe is lovingly remembered for his unwavering love for his family and friends. He was celebrated as the best man anybody knew, a testament to his strong character and the kindness he radiated throughout his life. Joe had a passion for building and woodworking, expressing his creativity through his hands and leaving a lasting impact in the homes of his loved ones with his handcrafted creations.
He is survived by his son, Joe (Chrissy) Hay, and his cherished grandchildren: Holly Reilmann, Joseph Hayes, Paul (Annette) Coyne, Eric (Katie) Hay, Matthew (Jasmine) Hay, Shannon (Jerr) Mahoney, Christopher (Melanie) Hay, Andrew Hay, Angela Hayden, Bethany Kellerman (Vaughan) and Tony Watret. In addition, he leaves behind many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought joy and purpose to his life.
Joe is preceded in death by the love of his life, Lanetta Hay (née Brown), his daughter, Barbara Watret, his son, Steven Hay, his daughter-in-law, Donna Hay, his grandson, Frankie Hay, and six siblings. Their collective memory accompanies him now, creating a strong legacy of love and family that will endure.
A visitation will be held in honor of Joe at Vitt, Stermer & Anderson Funeral Home Delhi located at 4619 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45238 on March 28, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service also at the same location from 2:00 PM.
Joseph Anthony Hay Sr. leaves a rich legacy, forever etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His values of integrity, hard work, and devotion to family will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
