Joseph (Bud) Legrand Ingles

West Bountiful, UT - Joseph (Bud) Legrand Ingles was received back to his Heavenly Father on December 29, 2024. He was the beloved son of Vernal Willard Ingles and Helen Josephine Graziano Ingles. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry, and his sister Judy. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette, whom he shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with. Their children are: Sally (Legrand) VanDyke, Christine (Gary) Walker, Joette Kuhni, Michael (Jill) Ingles and Robert (Deborah) Ingles; along with 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Bud was a kind friend to all and was always in the service of others. He left a lasting impact through his humor and his love for family. He greeted everyone with "I'm trying to be good"; and was an example of our Savior Jesus Christ whom he loved. Bud grew up in West Bountiful and graduated from Bountiful High School in 1957. He served a faithful mission in the Eastern States Mission (1959 -1961). While attending BYU Provo, he met his beautiful bride Jeanette Palmer who he married on August 18, 1962 in the Manti Temple. He graduated from BYU in 1964 with a B.S. degree in Public Administration and later graduated from the University of Missouri in 1968, also in Public Administration with a Doctorate degree. Bud taught at the University of Maryland in Government and Politics and then returned to Utah to work at Wasatch Front Regional Council for two years and finally at the State of Utah until retirement. His roles included Staff Director for the Committee of Consumer Services and concluding his career in the Office of Recovery Services. Bud served seven missions with his wife Jeanette: Currently serving at the Guest Services Mission at Temple Square and scanning and auditing books at the Family Search Center. Recently they served as hosts and tour directors at the Joseph Smith Building. They previously served a mission in the mission office at Haiti, Port au Prince. They also served at the Bishops' Storehouse; Nebraska Omaha Mission at the Mormon Trail Center (Winter Quarters) and the Kanesville Tabernacle in Council Bluffs. His legacy and impact will carry on forever, and his family is eternally grateful to have had him as our father, husband, grandfather, friend, and minister. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 4th, 2025, at the West Bountiful 11th Ward Chapel, 1750 N. 900 W., West Bountiful, UT. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Mortuary, 295 N. Main, Bountiful, UT, and Saturday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
