Joseph "Joe" Kellum Martin

Joseph "Joe" Kellum Martin, age 84 of Eupora, Mississippi, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born on January 19, 1941, in Choctaw County, Mississippi to Hugh Doris Martin, Sr. and Jewel Kellum Martin. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi and co-owner of Joe and Larry's Tire Service from 1980 until his retirement in 2011. Many happy hours were spent there with friends who came to hang out. Joe prided himself with doing his very best for his customers as well in all aspects of life. Later in life, his primary enjoyment came from spending time with his two grandsons and driving the countryside in his pickup. Joe is survived by his wife, Bonita Gordon Martin, Eupora, Mississippi; one daughter, Shea (Stephen) Martin Dorroh, Grenada, Mississippi; two grandsons, Seth Dorroh and Shepard Dorroh and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Doris Martin, Sr. and Jewel Kellum Martin; one brother, Hugh D. Martin, Jr. and best friend, Larry Dewberry. Funeral Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Joe will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Eupora, Mississippi. Interment will follow at Wood Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. The Graveside/Committal Services will be held at First Baptist Church instead of Wood Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends and loved ones for a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora, Mississippi. Rev. Travis Gray will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Adam Cummings, Brad Edwards, Clay Willingham, Justin Dewberry, Tommy Gladney and Guy Patterson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harold Whitaker, Max Johnson, Dr. Charles Ozborn and Roger Miller. The family request that all memorials be made to First Baptist Church Eupora, Mississippi.
