Joseph Redwine died peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 78. Born in Dillsboro, Indiana to George Raymond Redwine and Anna Marie Redwine, he grew up with his sister, Faye Fletcher (Lloyd) and his brother, David Redwine (Beth) on a farm. Upon earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from Georgetown College, he worked as a laboratory technician for the University of Kentucky Department of Agricultural Engineering for 42 years until his retirement. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Joseph was a model father to many. He was a devoted member of Blind Buddies and was a buddy to adult blind triplets with whom he often shopped and spent holiday celebrations. He also enjoyed sharing Christ as a missionary bus driver on the Lakota Indian Reservation in Wounded Knee, South Dakota for many years He had a multitude of interests in science, including astronomy, Ancient History, rock and stamp collecting and traveling. Most of all, his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna Jean Redwine of Lexington, his son, Timothy Blake Redwine of Lexington, and is daughter, Angela Sue Voight and her husband, Jeff Voight of Morehead, KY. Also surviving are grandchildren, Micah Knott and wife, Jennifer of Falmouth, KY, Tiffany Ramsey and husband Ryan of Hodgenville, KY and Kenneth Quillen of Hodgenville, KY. In addition, five great grandchildren survivors include Ronan and Aria Knott, Storey Lowry, Aralyn Minnick, and Velvet Ramsey.

He and Donna were longstanding members of Southern Heights Baptist Church where Joseph had served as a Christian and a Deacon.

Funeral services will be conducted at Southern Heights Baptist Church, 3408 Clays Mill Road, by Pastor Shane Maples on July 29, 2025. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM to the time of the service at 12:00 AM. Interment will be at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lakota children, Chanku Waste Ranch, 118 Chanku Waste Road, Porcupine, SD, www.chunkuwaste.com.
