Joseph Leonard "Joe" Johnson

Joseph Leonard "Joe" Johnson, 86, of Magnolia, AR passed away at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center in Magnolia on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Joe was born on March 13, 1939, in Rogers, AR to the late Emery Firn and Nettie Belle (Daugherty) Johnson. He served in the United States Army during the Berlin Crisis at Camp Leroy Johnson in New Orleans, LA from 1961-62. He retired from the Louisiana and North West Railroad (LNW) after working as a cashier and agent in Magnolia for 27 years. After the depot was closed in 1991, he transferred to Homer, LA to the main office and worked 10 years as an agent-dispatcher, retiring after 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his only child, Raymond Scott Johnson in 2005; brother, Bill Johnson; sisters, Rose Holly and Madalyn Goodwin; brothers-in-law, James Earl Holly, Richard Max Goodwin, Al Smith, J.W. Hicks, and Barry Greer; and sister-in-law, Becky McQuaigue Smith.
Joe leaves behind a loving wife of 61 years, Margaret Frances (McQuaigue) Johnson of Magnolia; sisters, Carilee Greer of Katy, TX and Ann Whitehead and husband Bill of Magnolia; brother, Tommy Johnson and wife Melba of El Dorado; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews, and nieces.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia with a graveside service following at 2:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Memorial Park Cemetery with Alan Johnson and Bro. Steve Ford officiating.
