Joseph E. King

Joseph Edward King, affectionately known as Ned, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and dear friend, passed away on January 27, 2026, just two days short of his 85th birthday.

He was born on January 29, 1941, in Queens, New York, where he met his future wife, Joyce Falta. Together they shared a remarkable 64 years of marriage, built on love, devotion, and partnership. In 1968, Ned and Joyce moved to the town of Westbury, where they made their home and raised their family.

He was a proud and loving father to Kevin King (Sheron), Karen Myers (Mike), Laurie Canezin (René), and Joseph King (Tiffany). He was an instrumental part of their lives and was always there to offer advice, guidance, and support when needed.

Ned was a cherished grandfather to Amanda, Ashley, Michael, Matthew, Nicholas, Tyler, Ryan, and Jason, all of whom brought him great joy and pride. He spent many hours on the sidelines cheering them on during their various sporting events and recitals.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved country music, playing tennis, making his annual trip to the U.S. Tennis Open in Flushing, and vacationing in St. Thomas. He also took great pride in his vegetable garden and tending to his roses.

Ned is also survived by his sister, Gwen Snyder; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Donna Falta; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as a generous, steady, caring presence who deeply valued family, loyalty, and friendship.

Ned's legacy lives on in our memories, through the family he loved so dearly, and in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
