Joseph Frederick Kopa, a local musician, passed away on March 5, 2026, at Sunrise Hospital. He was born on August 16, 1948, in Peckville, Pennsylvania. A talented musician, a proud veteran, and a devoted husband, Joseph Frederick Kopa will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joseph was a professional bass guitarist who dedicated many years to performing in local clubs across the Las Vegas area with his talent also extended to studio work. Joseph’s musical journey brought joy to countless individuals.
Joseph was a member of the United States Air Force and proudly served in the Vietnam War as an aircraft mechanic on the flight line. He was also stationed in Thailand. His service to his country was a significant honor, showcasing his dedication and resilience.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Joseph had various interests that he pursued with enthusiasm. He was an avid collector of model trains and enjoyed spending time honing his skills in billiards and basketball. He was also a fan of college football and basketball which brought him happiness and relaxation.
Joseph and his beloved wife, Argia-Patrice Kopa, were married on October 16, 1982, in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Their partnership was marked by love and support, providing a strong foundation for their life together. He is survived by his loving wife, Argia-Patrice Kopa; his sister, Joan Lowe; one nephew; and three nieces as well as grandnieces and grandnephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents Joseph A. Kopa, Edna Kielin Kopa, and his brother, Eddie Kopa.
Funeral services will be held at Guardian Angel Cathedral (302 Cathedral Way) in Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:15. Inurnment will be at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, in Boulder City, NV on March 18th , at 12:40 p.m. (1900 Veterans Memorial Highway)
