Joseph Ronald Kulp, 86, passed away at 1:02 PM on Sunday, March 1, 2026 in Lake Charles Louisiana.
Mr. Kulp was born on May 7, 1939, in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, where he was raised.
He began his career working for Melrath Metal Stamping Corporation, then Bethlehem Steel before pursuing a new opportunity with BF Goodrich as a tire builder. His strong work ethic eventually led him to Northport, Alabama in 1986. He was a proud and active member of the United Steelworkers local 351L, standing firmly alongside his fellow workers throughout his career.
He married Patricia Ann Landis in August 24th 1968. When he live in Boyertown PA he enjoyed taking the family to Cape May New Jersey every year. In 2022, he and his beloved wife relocated to Lake Charles to be closer to their daughter.
He found great enjoyment in baseball, reading history books, and visiting his son in Colorado, where he treasured time spent together in the mountains. He also shared a special bond with his beloved Maltese companion, Casper, who brought him much comfort and joy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Patricia Ann Kulp; children, Gregory Kulp (Hillary) and Rebecca Pettigrew (Raymond); and a grandson, Sean Kulp.
He was preceded in death by his parents Joshua and Mabel Kulp and his brothers Raymond, William, Leroy, Robert, Norman, Charles, and George.
Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. His ashes will be spread in Rocky Mountain National Park later this year.
