St. Albans – Joseph C. LeClair Jr. (Joe), 72, passed away on Thursday, August 21. 2025 following a courageous battle with cancer and a broken heart. He was predeceased by his Wife, Edwina L. Taylor just six weeks prior.

Joseph was born in Burlington on July 1, 1953, the son of the late Joseph C. LeClair Sr and Geneva L. (Centerbar) LeClair.

He graduated from Winooski High School and then joined the Army in 1972. He retired as a Sargent Major in 1992. Following his career with the Army he worked for the State of Vermont for over 25 before retiring in 2020.

Joe married Christina LeClair (Pauluth) while stationed in Germany and in 2002 he married the late Edwina L. Taylor. Together they had many great adventures together.

He is survived by his children Richard Bora Jr (Elizabeth) and their children Allison Morris (Sam) and April Bora. Michelle Goodman (Chad) and their children Tyler Bora (Johanna Baltz), Jacqueline Davis (Kyler) and their infant son Easton Davis, and Lexi Goodman. Tanja Quesnel (Brian Larocque) and her children Justin Deatherage-LeClair, Elizibeth Ward (Dylan) and Michael Quesnel. Angela Trahan (John).

He is also survived by his sisters Janice Fuller, Kathleen Favreau (Paul), Gloria Titch (Tim), Robin Belanger (Larry White) and Sisters-in-law Pricilla Putnam (Stan), Joanne Gordon, Cynthia Taylor and Robin McManus. and many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was predeceased by his father Joseph Leclair Sr., mother Geneva L. (Centerbar) LeClair, brothers-in-law James Nutting and Stephen (Mike) Taylor, sisters-in-law Marie Putnam and her husband Francis Putnam, Sheila Snaith and her husband Larry Snaith, Barbara Coon and son Christopher Coon, Rosemary Barrows and her husband Stuart Barrows, his father-in-law Edward Taylor, and mother-in-law Magaret (Young) Taylor.

A Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Vermont Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Randolph Vermont. A celebration of life will be held at a later date in St. Albans.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Martha's Kitchen in St. Albans, Vermont.
