Joseph 'Joe' D. Leterski Jr., 83 of Bevent, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at home.

Joseph was born on September 19, 1942, in Wausau, the son of Joseph Sr. and Julia (Barwick-Knipple) Leterski.

On May 24, 1980, Joseph was united in marriage to Mary Siverhus at Holy Name Catholic Church in Wausau.

Joseph worked on his own farm for many years and at Weyerhaeuser until his retirement. He enjoyed playing baseball and Sheepshead, hunting with his brothers and fishing. Joseph especially loved spending time with his family and his wife, Mary, who he had such a special love for. Joseph will always be remembered for being a handy man who helped anyone in need, his good sense of humor and his photographic memory. He was loved by everybody and will be greatly missed.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Julia (Brian) Parsons, Joel Leterski, John Minor, Jeffrey (Amy) Minor and James Leterski; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Sister Mary Beatrice Knipple; sister-in-law, Delores Knipple, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jerry Knipple, Art (Irene) Knipple, LaVerne (Paul) Kobus and Virginia Leterski.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 PM on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Schmidt & Schulta Funeral Home, Wittenberg. Sister Mary Beatrice Knipple will preside. Visitation will be on Sunday, from 11 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
