Joe was born to Israel and Leah Levinsky on May 7 1946. He graduated from Haddonfield High School, Franklin and Marshall College and Jefferson Medical College. He did his internship and residency at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland.
Joe began his medical career in private practice as a pediatrician. He returned to his first love of pediatric and emergency medicine at St Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia for the last 25 years of his career. His mediums included painting, drawing and wood cuts. He loved doing pictures of his grandchildren and his friends and family.
Joe was predeceased by his parents and his former wife Michael Levinsky. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Valerie McQuaide, his children David Levinsky, Jill Boucher (Randy), Mark O'Dwyer (Katie), Kelley McQuaide, and Stacy McQuaide (John Hilla).
