Joseph Lee Lockett, 72, was known as "Joe" a father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather slipped into the arms of the Heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, after an illness. Joseph Lockett was born in Jeanerette, Louisiana (New Iberia Parish), on January 27, 1953 to Mrs. Lillian Lockett (Ledger) and Mr. Edgar Lockett Sr. Joseph attended Abraham Lincoln School in Houston, Texas. He was known for his gentle spirit and love for everyone he knew. Preceding him in death is his beloved parents Mrs. Lillian Lockett (Ledger) and Mr. Edgar Lockett Sr.; one brother Raymond Lockett, and sisters , Gail Lockett and Pamelia Lockett Harris, one granddaughter, Diamond Weathers. He leaves his legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of his children, Michelle Daniale Washington, Deandra Scott Weathers (John) and Demontron Jackson; grandchildren, Makayla Oliver, Denetria Jackson, Denisha Jackson, Demontron Jackson Jr., Courtney Washington, Kieara Washington, Rachel Washington, Edward Jamison, Durell Scott, Marquel Scott, Cecily Weathers, Danzel Weathers; siblings, Henry Harrison of Beaumont, TX, Edgar Lockett Jr. (Phyllis) of Pomona, CA, Rosemary Griffin, Larry Lockett of Houston, TX; aunt, Evelyn Titus and a host of relatives and friends.
