Joseph McCormick

On May 26,2025 , Joseph (Joe)L. McCormick, 90, peacefully passed away at Oak Crest Village in Parkville, Maryland. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Joe was the son of the late Gerard W. McCormick, Sr. and Ella L. McCormick (Renehan). He was raised in Baltimore (Irvington) and was a 1953 graduate of Mount Saint Joseph High School and a 1957 graduate of Loyola College in Baltimore with a B.S. Degree in Physics. He started his career at Bendix Radio Division in Towson, Maryland, where he became Vice President and General Manager. In 1981 he moved to the Bendix (Allied-Signal) Aerospace Group in Arlington, Virginia where he retired in 1988 as Vice President and Group Executive. After retiring from Bendix/Allied-Signal (now Honeywell International) he served as a consultant with several Aerospace institutions. Joe was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Towson, Maryland, a member of his high school and college Alumni Associations and a member of the Towson Golf and Country Club (The Eagle's Nest). He enjoyed playing golf, traveling in the U.S. and Europe and spending extended time in Ocean City, Maryland with his wife and family. He is survived by his lovely wife of 66 years, Carol A. McCormick (Tayman), his loving children Michael J. McCormick, Sr. (Carol), David B. McCormick (Elizabeth), Mary Carol Esslinger (Kevin), Dennis P. McCormick (Jennifer) and Anne T. McCormick. Affectionately referred to as Pop, he is survived by 14 grandchildren (Michael Joe, Meghan, Olivia, Cameron, Evan, Andrew, Bryan, Patrick, Alex, Kristen, Maggie, Kelly, Caroline & Molly) and 14 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the family owned Ruck Towson Funeral Home, Inc., 1050 York Rd. (beltway exit 26), on Wednesday, June 11th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.   A Funeral Mass will be held at the Oak Crest Chapel, 8820 Walther Blvd, Parkville, Maryland, on Thursday, June 12th at 11 AM.  Interment private.
