Joseph McCullough Obituary

Published by Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care - Indianapolis on Mar. 1, 2018.
Joseph B. McCullough, 51, of Indianapolis unexpectedly suffered a massive heart attack on March 1, 2018. He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana on December 31, 1966 to Jack and Betty McCullough, the youngest of four children.Joe grew up and was active in the Franklin township area and well known in his community. He was a graduate from Franklin Central High school and went on to receive a degree from Indiana University. He served his beloved community on the Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. Joe moved on to serve on the Franklin Township advisory Board. He loved being involved with the fire department and continued to work in related fields as a salesman of fire fighting equipment. He also became a substitute teacher for the township. One of his most recent joys was to announce sporting events at the high school and middle school. This is something that he dearly loved and his voice will be greatly missed. Joe didn't know a stranger in his life. He was outgoing and quite a character. When he was younger, he worked for the Trader Classified Paper. He dressed up as their mascot for the fair and parades. He was the original "Trader Gator". Joe was well known for his sense of humor and endless jokes. He always had a joke and loved to make people smile. Joe loved his family deeply and had a immense love for his dogs. Joe did have a serious side and knew and loved Jesus as his savior. He is survived by the love of his life, Tawnya McCullough, married for 23 years; sons, Brad and Kyle McCullough; "part-time" daughter, Lauren Beasley; brothers, John (Bridget) and Jeff (Jeanne) McCullough; and four-legged children, Rusty and Lucky. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Becky L. Williams. In lieu of flowers a tax deductible donation can be made in Joe's honor to theFranklin Township Athletic Dept. Checks can be mailed to: FCHS Athletic Dept., 6215 S. Franklin Rd.
