Joseph D. Meier, loving husband and father, a masterful gardener, and faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ, of Columbus, died November 1, 2022, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, at 85 years old.
Roberts Funeral Home-Sherwood Chapel, Wooster. Funeral services will be Saturday November 12th at 11 a.m. at Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. Joseph was born October 24, 1937, in Newark, NJ to Joseph B. and Katherine E. {Cameron} Meier.
He married Irma Betty Dau on August 5, 1967. She died February 7, 2022.
Joseph was a Chicago Public School teacher for approximately 38 years. He loved Jesus, faithfully prayed for almost 40 people each day, and was a Jehoshaphat of his generation. Joseph was a plant-whisperer and his plants seemed to really love him. He was very friendly and easily made friends with people.
Joseph will be deeply missed by his daughter Lisa Meier of Columbus and niece Martita Meier.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, brother John C. Meier, sister Lois Meier and parents.
