Joseph Mikulec Obituary
Joseph M. Mikulec, 48, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1st. Joe was born on December 3, 1975 in Albany, NY to Rosemary Girgenti and the Late James Mikulec. He graduated from Berne-Knox-Westerlo in 1993 and went on to work at Phillips Medical for over 30 years. Joe met Christine in Westerlo, NY in 1991 and they had three beautiful children. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan, Adidas and Antique collector and enjoyed fantasy football with his friends. Joe loved his four legged companion, Chunk.
Joe is survived by his wife Christine and their three children, Amanda (Brian), Joseph, and Alexander. He was a devoted Papa to his three grandchildren Madison, Hayden and Liam. Joe was also survived by his siblings, James (Denise) Laura (Jeremiah) Bob (Glade) Anthony (Amanda) and Frank. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as his Father and Mother in-law Tom and Patricia Collins, brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Tricia, and his lifelong best friend Mike. In addition to his father he was predeceased by his Stepfather, Frank Palmeri Sr., grandparents Nicholas and Mary Girgenti, Alexander and Dorothy Mikulec.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm Wednesday November 6th at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Road Colonie, NY 12205. Services will be held Thursday November 7th at 10:30am at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please donate to Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center at www.cfdsny.org or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society at Mohawkhumane.org.
