Joseph "Joe" Franklin Mincey, 87, of
Simpsonville, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Born in
Sylvania, Georgia, Joe built a long, steady, and honorable life rooted in family, service, and hard work.
Joe proudly served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1963. While enlisted in the Navy, he married the love of his life, Gail Mincey, on January 23, 1960. Together they built a devoted marriage that lasted until her passing, raising their family with unwavering commitment and love.
Following his military service, Joe began a long and successful career with Davis Electrical Constructors, where he worked with dedication until his retirement. Known for his discipline, reliability, and strong work ethic, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Joe found joy in the simple, meaningful parts of life-fishing, camping, and spending time with the family he cherished. He was a steady, loving father and husband.
He is survived by his sister, Cindy Parker (JL); brother, David Mincey (Cynthia); his son, Jason Mincey (Dawn); his grandson, Kirk Mincey (Adrianna); and his great grandchildren, Aliyah, Kensley and Weston.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gail Mincey; his parents, Johnie and Eunice Mincey; his siblings, Dr. Harold Mincey, Johnie Mincey Jr., and Winona Hodges; and his granddaughter, Brinley Mincey.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the service to honor Joe's life at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
Joe leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
