JOSEPH STANLEY MONTOWSKI, affectionately known as "Pop," passed away on July 17, 2024, in Plantation, Florida, at the age of 72. Born on April 5, 1952, in Pennsylvania, Pop led a life marked by a vibrant blend of professional achievement and personal joy.
Pop's career spanned over 50 years at Johnson Controls, where he excelled as a Fire Alarm Systems Programmer. His dedication and expertise were recognized this year when the company MADE an award in his honor (called the “Not Your Average Joe” Award) that will be handed out to employees in future years for excelling at the company’s work in troubleshooting alarm systems.
Pop was a man of many talents and interests, seamlessly moving from intricate plumbing work to dancing with the Mummers Band. His versatility and spirited nature were hallmarks of his personality, bringing joy and laughter to all who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, June Montowski, and his children, Kimmy, Dori, Kota, Robbie, and Andy. Pop was a cherished grandfather to Heather, Johnny, Ashlinn, Alexis, Amanda, Spencer, Ryan, Adrianna, Austin, Abby, and Anthony, and a great-grandfather to Maddy, Riley, Holden, and Thomas. He is also survived by his siblings, Patricia, Joanne, and Christopher, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Pop was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Stanley Montowski.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 3-6 pm, and the funeral service following at 6:00PM, at TM Ralph Funeral Home, located at 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 33317. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Pop's remarkable life and legacy.
