Joseph Thomas "Joe" Mormon, 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025. Born on December 29, 1943, in Long Island, New York, he was the beloved son of the late Joseph Harry Mormon and Adelaide Nette Mormon.
Joe was a hard-working, hands-on guy with a big heart and a great sense of humor. Over the years, he owned several restaurants in New York City and on Long Island, ran his own house painting business, and later worked as the superintendent at St. William the Abbot Church in Seaford, NY-a job he took great pride in.
He loved staying busy, whether it was working with his hands, helping out at church, or spending time with his family. Joe was a man of faith, a loyal friend, and someone you could always count on.
Joe was a devoted member of St. John Neumann, where he found great joy and peace. He enjoyed cooking meals for his family, watching classic films, his 1957 Chevy, recently listening to country music, conducting small projects around the house and vacationing.
Above all, Joe cherished his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Cheryl Pamela Mormon; his children: Sean Mormon (Faith) of Chesapeake, VA, Frank Mormon (Cheri) of Highland, NY, Ann Lotterhos (Ken) of Florida, and Beth Mormon of Florida. He was a proud grandfather to Kaden, Eli, Sadie, Nate, and Nicholas.
Joe's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His legacy of hard work, quiet strength, and deep love for his family will never be forgotten.
