Joseph J. Mraz, 78, a resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Sandra J. (Glynn,Waltos) Mraz.

He was born in Lowell on April 27, 1947, and was the son of the late Joseph J. Mraz, Sr. and Katherine (Burkoff) Mraz.

Joe graduated from Tewksbury High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Army, serving honorably in Vietnam. He retired from the United States Postal Service. After retirement Joe and Sandy became snowbirds and traveled to Florida for part of the year. They loved golfing, trying new restaurants and enjoying a manhattan or two together. Joe enjoyed summers on their boat, Joysandreamz. He enjoyed playing his guitar and playing cards (45s) on Friday nights. Most of all he loved photography, especially capturing his grandsons' athletics. Football was his favorite.

In addition to his loving wife, Joseph is survived by his children, Krista Bassett and her husband Scott Bassett of Dracut MA and their sons Zachary and Tyler; Kenneth Mraz and his wife Denia (Graziani) Mraz of Holiday Florida and their daughter Erin Mraz; Stephen Mraz and his wife Kim Mraz of Durham NH and their son Sean Mraz.

Joseph is also survived by his sisters, Kathy Turner and her husband John Turner of Liberty, SC; Beverly Ingemi of Easley, SC and Patricia Mraz and her wife Janet Mellot of Redondo Beach, CA and his sister-in-law Sheila Waltos Matthews Bull and her husband Ed Bull of Cape Porpoise, ME, as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph is predeceased by his brother-in-law Richard Ingemi.

Joe will now be playing for eternity with his beloved dog, Buddy.

Memorial donations in Joseph's memory may be made to the Lowell Humane Society, www.lowellhumanesociety.org

At the family's request, all services and interment will be held privately.
