ABERDEEN, Ohio — Joseph "Joe" Allen Mullikin, 74, of Aberdeen, Ohio, passed away surrounded by family on March 7, 2026, after a brief illness.
Joe was born to Harry Clayton Mullikin and Margaret Marie Boone Mullikin Cooper. He grew up surrounded by a large family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and National Guard and later dedicated nearly 45 years to his work as a Chemical Operator at Borden/CRI, where he retired.
Joe loved fast cars, rock and roll, and spending time in the garage tinkering on his beloved Chevelle. He will be remembered for his straightforward nature, his meticulous attention to detail, and the joy he found in simple, familiar things.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Darlene Porter Mullikin; his children, Keith (Kristen) Mullikin and Kenneth (Ashley) Mullikin; his grandchildren, Logan, Vivian, and Hayden Mullikin; his brother, Kenneth Mullikin; his brother‑in‑law, Scrappy Porter; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Bonnie Horne, Carol Schmidtgoessling, Donald Mullikin, and Robert Mullikin.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

I am very sorry for your loss ! Although I did not personally know Joseph I feel a closeness of kinship as I am a Mullikin also . There was a tall Mullikin I believe was nicknamed Stretch that worked construction at DP&L and we became friends .
