Joseph R. Silvestro, 94, of Monument Beach, MA died on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Born in Detroit, MI and raised in the West End of Boston, MA son of the late Carmelina (Raciti) and Domenico Silvestro.

He was a proud US Navy veteran, serving his country during the Korean War. Joe was a long-standing member of the IBEW Local 103 where he retired as a Master Electrician.

Upon retirement he enjoyed keeping himself busy gardening and fishing, but his primary source of joy became spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His family was truly his most cherished gift.

Beloved husband of 64 years to the late Dorothy (Mastrogiacomo) Silvestro. Loving father of Joseph Silvestro and his wife Jill of Whitman, MA, Mary Anastas and her husband Nicholas of Pocasset, MA and Richard Silvestro and his wife Robin of St. Simons Island, GA. He was the proud grandfather "Papa" of Nicole, Joseph and his wife Vicky, Lisa and her husband Ryan, and great grandfather "Papapa" of Audrey, Alex, and Avery. Cherished brother of the late Ralph Silvestro and his wife Josephine, the late Frank Silvestro and his late wife Jeanne, the late Concetta Saracino and her late husband Guy, the late Sebastian Silvestro and his late wife Gerri, Domenic Silvestro and his wife Cheryll.

Due to the upcoming snowstorm the services have been postponed. Visitation will now be held at Chapman Funerals & Cremations, 74 Algonquin Ave., (Rt. 151) Mashpee, MA on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 841 Shore Rd., Pocasset, MA. Burial will be private.

The Funeral Mass will be live-streamed and can be viewed at: https://www.stjohnspocasset.org/

In lieu of flowers, Joe may be remembered through a memorial donation to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org).
