He was born on November 13, 1938 in Rockford, IL, the son of Joseph and Gladys (Bishop) Ongenars.
Joseph was a car salesman for various dealerships in Rockford, IL, where he received his nickname "Euro Joe". He was a hardworking man with a strong work ethic having several other jobs in his life time. He was a member of the Northbrook Sportsman Club. Joseph traveled and was known throughout the world as a renowned sporting clays shooter and enjoyed pigeon shooting. He loved to play and watch Golf. In his younger years, Joseph would participate in sports car road racing, which in turn led him to own multiple race cars.
Survivors include his adopted family, Micah (Tiffiny) Anderson and their son, Jude "Toots"; many great friends; and cat, Inkball.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents and brother, William.
A Memorial Shoot for Joseph will be held.
