Joseph A. Paraventi, Jr. age 68 of Ashland, WI passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 10, 2025 at his residence. Joe was born on June 4, 1956 in Stambaugh, MI the son of Joseph A. and Matilda J. (Husar) Paraventi.
Joe attended school at West Iron County Public Schools in Iron River, MI. Upon graduation, he furthered his education at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI, obtaining a degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked for Great Lakes Gas and Enbridge Pipelines for many years. He ended his career upon retiring from Enbridge in 2016.
Joe was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
Joe was united in marriage to JoAnn E. Brey on October 6, 1979 in Iron River, MI. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He especially loved being with his family and cooking together and grilling. Joe loved seeing his grandchildren and was known to play tricks on them. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, camping, boating, cooking, and just being at home. Joe especially enjoyed playing cribbage with his best, most loved mother-in-law Carmen Brey.
Joe is survived by his wife of 45 years, JoAnn Paraventi of Ashland; daughter, Teckla (Eric) Bocik of Ashland; sons, Jacob (Tressa) of Afton, MN and Alex Paraventi of Superior, WI; grandchildren, Olive and Hutch Bocik; sisters, Roxanne (John) Melchiori of Iron River, MI and Yvonne Ayer of Grand Haven, MI; numerous nieces, nephews and friends; brother-in-law Douglas (Debbie) Brey of Iron River, MI.; and very special mother-in-law Carmen Brey of Iron River, MI.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service for Joseph will be held at a later date at the Mountain Funeral Home in Ashland, WI.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home of Ashland, WI.
